Do you sometimes want to increase numbers in an Excel spreadsheet but don't need a formula?Did you even know you could do this!Do you want to save time by using Paste Special?If the answer is 'yes' or ‘what' or ‘how' then why not follow the instructions below which is our Top Tip of the month.Better still - follow the link to our Top Tips page and print the page so you don't forget! Top Tip. To increase by 5% enter 1.05 into any blank cell This is the "multiplier" that will increase the prices by 5% Select the cell you have just entered 1.05 into Select Edit - Copy or Ctrl+C to copy the cell Select the range of values to be increased by 5% Click on Edit - Paste Special to display the Paste Special dialogue box Select the Multiply option Click on OK All the values have now been increased by 5% without formulas and you can delete the cell that contains the 1.05.
