Harvester - home of the flame-grill and the help-yourself salad cart - offer a relaxing farmhouse atmosphere and fresh, wholesome food. The menu includes succulent spitroast chicken, the wholesome taste of flame-grilled steaks, platters with a little bit of everything and unlimited freshly prepared salad with every main meal.
Long wait for a table, for seemingly no other reason than staff standing around talking instead of clearing tables. I ordered, to be told "Oh we haven't got that" so chose another option only to be told the same thing! As a result, ended up with something I didn't really want and that wasn't great. Salad bar was disgusting, not enough tongs so some had been used for 2 or 3 options!
I visited this place on March 22nd 2010.The female toilets to the left were in a disgusting state and 1 was shut and blocked. The other toilets were equally disgusting with a filthy toilet seat half off.The whole place looked tatty and in desparate need of a refurb. For such a prime place right by the sea why let the pub get so scruffyand dirty? What a dreadful advert for Bournemouth. I hate to think what state the kitchens are in!I will not be returning.Harverster Inns get your act together!
food is poor and service is bad,,,
I was very disgusted with the harvester as i have not eaten at this restaurant before and i was told it was a friendly and quick service restraunt. I sat outside as the weather was nice i had to clean my own table of after someone had used it cutley, plates etc. I waited 35 minutes for my meal before i decied to go and ask were it was and found out the waiter didnt even give the cheif my order so i had to wait anotha 10 minutes. They couldnt keep up with every ones orders. MORE STAFF WAS NEEDED. I never complain but this time i fought it was needed as the waiters were rude and the service was rubbish. The only good thing that i found OK but not brilliant at all was the food. If they had more staff to tidy and have better service then this restraunt would be very good and pleasant.
