  • 8 Great Food

This place is great. They actually bring you out the food you want when you want it, as opposed to waiting around for hours til you've got stomach cramp (like many other places i know!) Very good chinese food, consistant in standard, staff are slightly stand offish but still excellent service. The only problem with this place is that they often try to get you in and out as quickly as possible, expecially during busy times, and that can get a bit annoying. Because it's so well known in the area they obviously want to maximise the sittings so you can feel rushed, but don't let that put you off, food is still great.

  • 6 Just ok now

Oceans Palace used to be my favourite Chinese in the area. I love the restaurant’s décor and tables by the window. The service was always efficient and attentive and the food was to die for. However I do feel that over recent years the place has gone downhill a bit. When I was last there, the staff weren’t particularly friendly and we felt very rushed. We went for a set menu and no sooner were you eating your last mouthful of food, your plate was whipped out from under you! The food is still of a very good standard and reasonably priced but I do feel that due to the service I would probably go to another Chinese restaurant over this one.

  • 10 Excellent

I've eaten here very recently and I can't fault the restaurant at all. Food was excellent, service was top notch, it's not expensive and the setting is great. You have nice large tables and plenty of room between the tables so you don't feel crowded at all. The other thing you notice about Ocean Palace is that a lot of oriental people eat there which to me suggests that the food is consistently good.It ticks all of my boxes and I shall be sure to visit again.

  • 4 Used to be good

I have been here many times over the years but I think it has gone down hill. It used to be quite a posh place but I think the décor is tired now and it almost looks like a café. It gets very busy and it is often crowded whilst you wait for a table by the fish tank. The last time I went here I went with 2 friends and we felt we were very rushed. We ordered and our started was with us within minutes. Then they cleared that away and the mains arrived- quite impressive considering they were packed but it was all a bit rushed and we felt like they were rushing us through to get the table for more people. I don’t think I would go back here now.

  • 10 Lovely food, great service!

I used to live around the corner from this fantastic restaurant. I can't think of anything bad to say about it! The crispy chilli beef is exceptional!
